ABOUT IRBG
Our Purpose
Modern livestock production faces real constraints: low reproductive efficiency, limited access to elite genetics, climate-related stress, emerging disease pressure, and rising demand for sustainable food production. Meeting these challenges takes more than conventional breeding — it takes applied science and effective technology transfer.
IRBG was founded to do exactly that: develop and deliver reproductive biotechnologies that improve genetic merit, reproductive performance, and overall livestock productivity.
Our Institutional Structure
Commercial Divisions
- Embryo Technologies Division (VitaGene Farms) — embryo production, transfer, donor/recipient herd management, and cryopreservation for cattle, buffalo, sheep, goats, and horses.
- Semen Production Division (NextGen Sires) — elite sire development and high-quality frozen semen production and dissemination.
Academic Divisions
- Research & Genomics Division — the scientific foundation of IRBG, driving research in reproductive biotechnology, genomics, molecular biology, embryology, and precision breeding.
- Training & Capacity Building Division — developing the next generation of reproductive biotechnology professionals through hands-on training and certification.

WHY IRBG?
Bringing Together What Was Once Scattered
IRBG was established to bring together expertise that had previously been delivered through multiple organizations and projects into one integrated institute dedicated to research, education, innovation, and commercial application.
Rather than expertise in embryo technologies, semen production, genomics research, and professional training living in separate places, IRBG unifies them under a single institutional roof — so that scientific discovery, commercial delivery, and workforce development reinforce one another instead of operating in isolation.
A Proven Team, Not a New One
IRBG’s core team did not come together as strangers. Dr. Qaisar Shahzad (CEO) built his career producing 40,000+ in vitro embryos and leading the export of 12,000+ Nili-Ravi buffalo embryos to China — the same program that gave Dr. Haider Ali (COO), Amina Hafeez, and Yaseen Akhtar their own track records at Royal Cell Biotechnology (Pakistan) before they regrouped at VitaGene Farms. Rao Kamran Aslam (President) adds proven business leadership to the scientific side, and an International Scientific Advisory Board spanning Brazil, China, and Pakistan brings outside expertise in embryo technique, reproductive hormones, and the buffalo industry itself.
The result is an institute built on people who have already worked together and delivered results — not a newly assembled team learning to collaborate on the job.
